If you don't clean it out at least once a month, prefer once a week, you are better off using no bedding.  Bedding has the same affect on moisture in the shed as mulching a garden in the summer.  It will hold moisture for a long time.

Have never seen a feedlot in western Kansas use bedding.  Maybe they do, but the 8 I used to travel by all the time never did.
