If you're a REC member check with your local office.  Our county does scholarships and I believe the state REC association does also. If you're a Farm Bureau member check with your local office.  Our county does scholarships and the IFBF does also. 

Both of these are pretty good $ amounts, esp from the state REC and the IFBF.

Check with the college office also.  Colleges usually have info available for scholarships that are available for certain programs. Usually they are targeted towards returning students (2nd, 3rd, 4th yr) but there are some that are available to freshmen.

If his grades/test scores are good/really good a lot of CC's will do a lot to get students with good grades/test scores to help their overall academic ratings.  Again check with the college financial aid office.
