Well, the farm does pay for itself, so not sure that I would classify 120 momma cows as a hobby. I started with 40 acres 10 years ago, so I must be doing something right. Buying and selling land and cows over the years to get where I am today. It sure didnt' seem like a hobby, but I do enjoy it. :-)
My son used to help but he is a Senior in college and not much help anymore, and I understand and expected that. This year I did everything on my own, including putting up 400 big bales of hay and working all the calves.
agree that I won't "Retire" just doing something else 60 hours a week. Something a bit more enjoyable. Great to hear you escaped the rat race a few years ago. | |
