SW MN and Gold Canyon AZ
I hear ya kookier, it is hard to find help. Both my sons live in Sioux Falls and have a landscaping business, so its hard to get them at all. Son in law trucks and has his own cattle and pig chores so only evenings work for him. Wifes got a bum knee so she's out. Guys I feed for have lots of boys but they have so many hogs and land themselves they are not available all the time. I have loaded myself but am completely shot by the time the load is done. Walking from pen 10 to the front is along ways 8 to 10 pigs at a time. Guess thats why I don't have much fat on me !!
Schick system sounds like the way to go. Most I have seen are not like that and growers have had alot of trouble with them training the pigs.
I'm 53 now, not sure how long I want to keep doing these hogs before I rent out the building. My knees will probably tell me when its time to quit. For now I like the monthly check and the manure pays back big time.
