hoofer is right about not digging deep enough to find problems. we trim our own feet and lots of times have to get the same cow in the chute twice cuz we didn't find the absess the first time....push around on the bottom of the foot in different places with the blunt curved edge of the hoof knife and see if the cow squirms or not. If so, dig there.
