So you are putting in 1/2 ac paddocks which is ok. However that is allot of fence if permanent for so little grazing/animals. If you could look into maybe one wire and the use of strips to divide off the forage. Your equip. will work, but as mentioned it will be short of power if weeds get in the way. That's one of the reasons for the 1 wire permanent and use strips you only energize the wire in use. I will look tomorrow and see what a S-17 Gal uses for size of battery. Quickness of jolt will effect size of battery to. I have a friend who has a 5 Joule fencer on a 30 watt panel with a marine battery. He does not use a regulator so that means his solar Panel never has overcharged the battery. He keeps his energizer on at all times. Ben
