One of the problems I have with any kind of travel other than car is the lack of transportation after you get to the depot or airport.  I think in Europe they have trains that take you and your car.  That would make me user. 

My wife flew to San Fransisco last year and had to go through the Dallas airport.  It was bigger than a lot of Iowa towns.  I don't want any part of that.  But once you get someplace for a visit you are either dependent on your host or you have to rent a car.  Renting cars is always such fun too.

I gave up a few days to drive to Austin and I certainly don't regret it.  I enjoy my wife's company and the scenery.  Then when we got there I was able to go where I wanted when I wanted without concern.

Of course that's just me.
