Sunnyside, WA | CME is the biggest joke ever. What percent of the milk produced is actually bought and sold on the CME?
Coops and handlers are the biggest problem. Coops are "owned" by the dairyman, but the CEO's and others make huge bonuses based on profitability. Think about it: buy cheap milk, sell cheap cheese = processor makes money. High prices milk and high priced finished products still makes money.
I've always said I don't care what the milk price is, and long as I can make money making milk. I think the processors have the same attitude. | |
