Subject: Re: How do you feed hay??? Winter time

Chilliwack, British Columbia
While I was attending college in Alberta, an instructor told us of a neighbour of thiers who had a self feed wagon, that was supposed to hold 10-12 bales or so, 2 wide. This guy would fill the bottom up, put on a second layer, and sometimes a third. I think it lasted a month? Not saying this is the thing to do, but you wouldn't be the first to try it if you wanted to.

Thought I should add, we feed our milking herd everyday, but the dry cows and older heifers get fed every other day. I guess it depends on if you need a reason to get out of bed in the winter or not? d:)
