| Yields are lower all around in this area.
The best fields are running near 200. These are the fields that usually push 230+.
I have heard MANY numbers in the 140-170 range. This is much lower than usual.
I think it is very fair to take 20% off our average. I'll know more in about 2 weeks because we'll likely have the corn done.
I haven't talked to anyone who is getting better yields than the past 2 years. There is no way Illinois will produce a record yield this year. Mark this post!
Soybeans are another animal. Initial reports are very optimistic, but very few beans have been harvested. I think the national soybean yield might actually increase from the September USDA number. | |
