Central Illinois | Most guys in there have 200 bushel corn, according to them. Of course they don't say how many acres it took to get that 200 bu. The lower yielding guys never say anything. Maybe they aren't as comfortable about lying.
On a bright note, we did shell 1 38 acre field last Saturday that averaged 210. Unfortunately for us, it was a custom job. He had another field that went 151. Both of those were after soybeans. We had a seventh year corn field in between them that went 159. One half was a good Mycogen number, and the other half DK65-63 that went 135. That number has been a bust for us this year, although not quite as bad as the Super Stacks. I thought RR2 beans were a disappointment two years ago, but even they weren't this bad. | |
