That sure sounds like what I thought a 'STOP' was.

Perhaps incorrectly, I was under the impression that at some level of subscription, one could see market orders and stops that have been defined.
This may be incorrect, if so I am sure someone will be kind enough to straighten me out.


You've got it right. I don't typically place stop orders. My stops are "mental"or "soft"....i.e. I just pick a number and if it hits my "stop" then I place the order. This is why nobody knows what my stop is.

Another thing about seeing buy/sell orders. Phony orders can be placed to make people think there are stops stacked up at a certain price. Then when the price gets close, the orders can get canceled.
