I look to futures for risk reduction more than profit enhancement. I am more likely to by a put to establish a floor than I am to buy a call after a sale and I hate margin calls. I need to get over that I know but margin calls turned a 500 acre debt free family farm into a 80 acre fully leveraged hobby farm in the 70's and then I remember 18% interest. Not too fondly I might add. And yeah I know it wasn't the calls it was the person taking the positions but I still remember the fear and apprehension and stress thase calls caused. What a ramble. Anyhow this is one of the best threads I've seen on this forum. I will have to take a look and see what I have been missing. |
