farming, it ain't the first one. My post really was meant as much to express my thanks to RayJ for his great comments. He has been a good teacher, particularly as concerns basis. The buyer I am talking about gets about 35% of my business, and he will be lucky to keep that. He is not a bad guy, but every day can not be a good day to sell. One of them has to be a day to hold off on sales. I have my business spread around a bit to Cargill, ADM, and AgriVisor, besides my local guy and myself. I like to compare myself against them, and them against each other. Some years I do pretty good, some I don't. But I think it helps keep my risk spread out and me on my toes. I would tell you who seems to do the best, year in and out, but i know I would make a bunch of people upset.
