Central Missouri | Basis is a function of 3 things in STL, gulf basis, barge freight, and space availability in STL. I suspect that the gulf basis dropped and or barge freight took a big jump and/or space is getting full in STL. There is almost no more competitive market than STL when it comes to bids. This is why so much storage has been built on farm in the last 10 years and the reason I bought a bagger. Remember SC said that a big basis drop is one of the things to look for to predict a market top. | |
