Subject: Re: Soybeans?

Central Minnesota
We made a large 200 mile circle to the west-north and back home on the cycle today. In my opinion it is safe to say that most of the soybeans would not be hurt by a frost coming to central Minnesota by next weekend. There were many fields of early beans ready to combine and later maturities are far enough along that bean size or yield would not be greatly affected. Except that the saturated fields with many areas of standing water will make the harvesting difficult. Beans are standing good and there are nice pod sets. My own beans have most pods with 4 beans to the pod. Seen no droppage to speak of. Looks to be our besst bean crop in past few years. Hoping for the high 40's-low 50's. Normally our first frost is not cold enough to do the major damage.
