North Central Illinois | We are seeing a little overall smaller ear size, some smaller kernals and no more than average test weight. Plus there are areas of most fields that are severely stunted from too much water in June. Other than the really stunted areas I think the hot temps in July and early August especially at night are what zapped the yield. The farther north you go I the less heat so I would think better yields would also be in the northern areas. | |
