| yoohoo, from this summers scouting tour, do these early low yield reports reflect any problems with the tour results. Or, are these early yields consistent with what you found and that there is much better yielding corn yet to be combined? Right now my guess is that only early planted, early maturing hybrids are being combined now and historically this combination has not always made for great yields. This certainly bias's the current data. Until harvest really gets going, we won't know if the low yields are widespread.
The last few years of triple stacks have got us thinking we are invincible, but perhaps some of the old patterns still apply every so often. It would also be a major situation if all the yield estimates where completely off. I'm wondering if that is even possible (to big of a mistake made by too many people). While last years quality and test weight issues had an effect, most of us had good yields.
