West Central MN | The Denco plant in Morris, MN is set re-open on October 1st.
As an investor in the CVEC plant in Benson since the beginning, the corn supply agreement has not always been very friendly to the people invested in the plant. I know alot of people who are farmers who are part of the corn pool because they don't want the risk. I believe only about half of the shareholders actually deliver any corn to the plant at all.
In my case, I was out of corn when the plant started up and had to buy $4.50 corn on the open market to fill my agreement. I probably got paid half of that amount by the ethanol plant. | |
