Southeast Colorado | Keep in mind that in 08 the farmer's price pretty much reached $8. This year with the basis probably most are at $4 right now. I can easily see $5 in our future even with crude where it sits now. Will it get there? Who knows, but grains are most certainly the hottest game in town. When it comes to high basis levels, unless you are hauling to an elevator that makes you sell across the scales, I think most farmers are healthy enough now to just ride this market out for basis improvement next year. We actually picked up 10 cents locally on the wheat a couple of days ago. Interesting with all of the wheat piled on the ground around here. Good luck and profits to all! | |
