Fritz34 - 8/24/2010 18:43 Looks like you need to stack your bales tighter together, keep the water from getting down in between them. That would make the wrapping much more effective I think.

I had good luck last year pushing the wrapped bales tight - you can see a few leftovers in the background on the right. I want about 20% leftovers each year as a cushion. I'll feed those first this year.

However as wet as it has been in WI this summer both my hay supplier and a good neighbor suggested the best thing to do is to leave a bit of a gap to let them breathe.  I may push later bales tight to compare.
