North Central Illinois
Brandon, I went through a similar process a few years ago. I added a 26 x26 garage attached to the house with a 16x18 breezeway. Best money I ever spent! If you are only going to park vehicles in this garage 26x26 is plenty big. I have other buildings for stuff and did not want a garage that was big enough to store other things in. Our garage has my truck and the wifes car and a refrigerator and nothing else. I can back my extended cab pickup in with the snowplow and still walk in front of it. We have plenty of room between the walls and the vehicles and scads of room in the middle. I put in two doors 10' wide by 8' tall and would never change that even if I had the chance. If I had the room I would have probably gone with a big three car setup since my daughter will be driving soon but we do have another garage on the property she can use. The way my yard and house are set up I just didn't have the room for the three car. Go with 10' wide doors and you won't be sorry.
