Northwest Illinois | I should have been a little more specific in my post also, the main reason I say that results have been mixed is because we use a lot of puts to create a floor and then also call spreads once a cash sale has been made. It has opened my eyes a lot more to the use of options but very seldom have really capitalized on the purchase of these options through these programs. This makes it sometimes feel like it is a never ending options trading game that never really addresses trying to get a nice average price for the physical bushels. Obviously as some comments have been made I understand they are getting paid based on when we trade so they want to continue that. I guess I am also interested in how others view buying puts and such if there is actually money to be made or if it simply risk management for a major fall in the market. | |
