west central Iowa | Some electric fence "experts" recomend never using ceramic insulators because of the possibility of internal cracks. I've never had a problem with Premier brand insulators in 20 years. I use both their tubes and their regular end insulators which are not nearly as likely to short even if they crack. Several times when I had a short that was difficult to find I would isolate the smallest section I could where the short was and shut the fence off and walk the fence with the wire in my hand until I found it. | |
