Personally I would not use it . Why risk it , there are good products now that are designed for dipping and are safe for teat skin. I wash udders with warm water from hose, THOROUGHLY ( very important ) wipe dry with clean cloth towel ,THEN dip teats with solution of iodine udder wash (I O Wash) allowing at least 30 seconds contact time before wiping dry with another clean cloth towel. Post dip with barrier type iodine. Hand flush units between cows. Most tell me that's too much trouble but it works good for me -- cell counts as low as 31,000, bacteria seldom over 1,000. | |
