Subject: RE: One thing the Farm bill of 08 WAS supposed to do,

New Mexico
was allow State and Fed hivac meat inspection standards to mean the same thing ( since they ARE the same anyway ) as far as cross complient inspection for meat sales across State lines for State Inspected plants.

So far that has NOT happened.

usda/fsis seem to have misinterpreted things such that they are actually putting more small plants out of business....supposed annual inspection upgrades to "please?? ( GREASE actually )" the feds costing from $64,000 on up thru $464,000 small plant annually.

As far as the recent legistlative spin the bigger packers thru congress and consolidated process/feeding industry folks are now spinning for yet more govt colluded consolidations? Well interpret that however one desires, because that IS exactly what those sources are doing too.
