Subject: commodity funds?

Jim Rogers and others like commodities, and the way for most to play that is through the funds and ETF's.

That helps the farmer I think, but I don't understand how these funds really work since they never take delivery. I got "burned" a little in OIL and UNG because of contango. OIL went up but the OIL ETF went down. I would think there are always smart guys on the other side of the fund guys, and with options costs included the real money is (maybe) made by the players in the pit, more than the funds or farmers.

I'd guess that big money in funds adds fuel to the volatility fire ... But how it really works is mostly a mystery to me, I just try to follow what senior explains.
