Subject: Re: Corn Damage Question

Near-north Ontario, French River
About the only thing you can do different at the commercial level ( same applies to farm set up) is to lower your drying temps and handle it as little as possible. Saying that we all no when the harvest crunch hits everyone is trying to ram corn through the dryers as fast as possible and that generally means running higher ( then what will realistically maintain grain quality) dryer temps. Our shivers dryer may be slow, but get a year like last year , turn the heat down a bit and it still put out a good sample.
