Kansas | Put up a bunch of prairie hay. Its full of Brome grass, Side oats grama, bluestem, not exactly what else, been a long time since grass camp. Fairly weed free. Bales are approximately 60 lbs give or take in weight.
Rodeo's in town this week. I'm thinking about seeing if I can pawn off the last of it on the trailer instead of putting it away in the barn. I already put more in there then I was anticipating.
Dad and I did some number figuring and thought around 5 dollars a bale made it worth our trouble but I thought I read somewhere on NAT that others got 6.50 a bale. I can't remember if that was alfalfa or prairie hay though and I can't find the post again.
What kind of pricing are you guys seeing?
