| We looked into tankless heaters when our 40 gal electric on the porch went caput. Really didn't want to do gas, as that would be our only gas appliance. Electric loads are crazy high, like 140 amps for full use. Coop didn't like that. Talked do local coop, talked to a couple dealers, even called one company. What I came away with, is that if you use hot water only sporadically, you will probably save some money. We have a family of 5, either the washing machine, the dishwasher, the shower, the sink, or something is going pretty much all the time. For busy families, I really doubt you'll save enough to cover the extra cost of a tankless. Put in a new electric by Ruud, and it is noticeably better than our old one was. | |
