SW MN and Gold Canyon AZ
Mn will set a record for corn production, my prediction. Watch the pollination %, nation wide will be ahead of schedule.
I remember a few years back driving thru eastern ia and also down I35, drown out corn, yellow corn, no way did I think ia would have an above ave crop, turned out it did, so much for looks.
I remember "here" we had dry conditions from planting till aug , very little rain and hot, ended up getting a soaker first week in aug, made 180 bu corn that year when most wrote off the crop in july with a zero.
95 degrees with topsoil moisture equals little stress.
Now go 3 weeks with no rain, and get 95 with a south wind of 25 to 30 mph for a week , now your talking stress.
Crop ratings will stay the same or improve.
Hot dome will have to stay in place for a week or more to cause problems, so far we keep getting these fronts passing thru.
Myself I will sell a little at a time on the way up, and not try to guess the top and sell on the way down.
Do we have potential to reach 4.50 dec, yes but over 4.50 no not at this time.
One can lock in almost 800$ gross income on these corn acres, something to ponder.
