Heeling or hilling is piling dirt around the plant after the plant comes up. It should be hilling, as heeling has more to do with cutting the potato before seeding. My dear old mother used to always say "heeling" when she piled dirt around, so I must have picked it up from her.
Are these topatoes or pomatoes? (pics)
