DeKalb, IL | Had the same thing happen at the office a while back. Had to have a computer in the shop for a few days, during which time I had to replace the router in the system. There was no problem with any of the computers in the workgroup--until the one came back from the shop. It could find none of the other computers, nor could any of them access files on it (each could ping all of the computers on the local network, though).
I had to be out of town for a weekend after fighting that inconvenience for what may have been the better part of a week, although it seems like it ate the most of two weeks. When I got back from the visit with family out of state, all computers could access shared files and folders on all the other computers. At least in this case, time healed all wounds. Still haven't come up with an explanation, though. But I hope this bit of Microsoft magic works for you, too. | |
