SW Ohio | I bit the bullett and am letting my dialup expire, DSL is now available at my house and am just waiting for phone company to send me modem and info. i have a few dumb questions, and after reading most of the posts here, a few more.
1. I will need to hook up two computers in different rooms of the house, what is the best way to do that?
2. Phone company called and said I am all wired up but they did nothing here, same old copper wire running 1000 feet to the road, do i need to do any special wiring inside the house, have five phones in house,plus one cordless, one fax, one answering machine, one phone in shop building,
3. security... I plan to turn off one computer except for the few hours a week it is in use, what about the other, leave it on all the time? (XP home sp2, guest privlidges disabled) current antivirus is expired, what should i look out for??
