Takes about a month for the Japanese Millet to get a real good start, then it grows fast.
You can cut the millet for hay too. Some folks take 3 to 4 cuttings.
Cut it say about 6 to 8 inches above ground. That lets the hay dry better, and cutting that high does not slow down the millet growth much.
Stuff will produce 20 tons of hay or grazing in a decent season at 16 to 20% protien.
