The first part is pretty difficult to answer, a lot depends on age and condition of animal when he's put on feed. Most good cattle should gain up around 4# and some will do better than that, some a lot better, but 4# is a very good mark. One lot I have used in the past had a pen that did 6, which is the highest I've heard of for a pen.
