Brazilton KS
When we used to race, we had a multiple time national champion friend who just always "knew" that anyone who beat him was cheating.   There came to be a guy who beat him regularly, and of course he constantly said that his car was illegal.  Never actually protested it, because he didn't know what to protest, but constantly complained.  Well, both of them were co-driving cars which someone else owned, and at some point the new guy encountered mechanical or scheduling trouble which left him in need of a car....he managed to work a deal with the owner of the old guy's car, and drove it at one event....and what do you know if he didn't win, beating old guy in the same car.  Now,  was he still "obviously cheating" because he went faster then old guy?    .....Well, knowing old guy, I'd say that yes, new guy was obviously cheating if he was driving the same car :)....but that's sort of beside the point of this, isn't it?  lol
