My boy got his school license in Sept and was put on as primary operator of the highest $ vehicle.( how ins. co do it)  He has a 2001 Monte Carlo SS.  Our total insuranse bill for 3 insured, 2 cars, including his, and 1 pick-up, went up $800.00/6 months.  Full coverage on all with high dollar liability to qualify for my liability umbrella.  Long story short $1600.00/ yr to insure him to drive all.
