Extreme SW Minnesota Iowa border | Usually around here, its an unwritten rule you don't get in the way. Most of the time, it works like this, you stop buy, about 10:30, have coffee for a about 15 to 20, see whats going on. A lot guys do a lot learning from one shop to the next. In my area, there are 2 farmers with Machine shops, so those guys are pretty much busy all the time, but, they seem to know that if some one comes over for coffee, its a good time to get some work. Pretty common to have some one stop in and say, something like," is it possible to patch this, or do you have the tools to do that?".
I live in a Geographcally challenged place. I am physically 3 days away from getting most parts. But, if I drive an hour, in any direction, I can have it that day. So, since the price of gas went up, its pretty common to see us stop in , and see if anyone needs something from that direction.
