Subject: RE: cleaning snowmobile clutches

Southern Saskatchewan
I have never used anything on the clutches. The rubber comes off with a scotchbrite or fine automotive sand paper, use air to blow off any foreign material. Clutches secondary and primary should be taken apart prior every season, cleaned and inspected. Remove the belt after every ride and blow both clutches off.If you have never taken clutches apart it would be good to have a buddy that is familiar with it for the first time. The secondary can be a pain if you are not sure how to compress it back together.
