Brake cleaner works good, but it's tough rubber or plastic bushings, o-rings, etc. I've used brake cleaner, carb cleaner, and ether and they all work....I'll usually try to use ether.
If you are cleaning them, take a scotch brite pad and scuff up the clutch faces with it.
