We saw Arnie drive about 6 yrs ago over @ US41 (Indiana). Arnie was well into his 70s then. He claimed to be the fastest "back to the line" after the burnout. After he'd do his burnout w/his goat, he'd open the drivers door & back up to the line @ about 80 mph. It was a nostalgia day. Dyno Don Nicholson was there also. Sadly though, they weren't driving 421 Pontiacs or 409 Chevies any longer...that would've been better. Bigger motors w/nitrous now. The "Windy City Dodge"  was there also.

You're right though Gary, Arnie just about bought the farm down near St Louis a couple yrs back. I believe he started racing Pontiacs in 1955 or thereabouts.
