with a gun. I've had to put down pets before myself. As Matts says give them a meal and put them down with the first shot. It's instantanious.  Last pet I put down the pet was actually sick (throwing up) and never knew what happened.

Now I'm not going to say it's easy, it's damn tough, but I'm not going to pack my best friend off to some place that scares the hell out of them just so it's "easy" on my heart. And justify it with some B.S. "it's more humane" saying. It's not more humane,, it's just easier because somebody else is killing your pet.

Edit: may sound like a mean ol'sob, I'm not,
but I'm not going to scare my best friend, just cause it's "easier" for me.
