If you have livestock you might have what you need on hand. Since we farrow I have tranquilizer available at all times. If it is a favorite, of which there are none on farm at current time/ I can give it an OD.
If if is the farm dog I will probably haul her to the vet. Barn cats hubby will shoot.
Guys, I'm a woman, why all this sentimental stuff? We all know what needs to done. If all of our grandparents would have been this squimish this country would have failed. Cry while you do it if you have to.. no wonder there is so much problem with animal rights and vegetarians.
However, if you've got the time and the dollars ... by all means take the time and haul it to the vets.
