NEMO
If you like water fountains, KC is the place to go. 3 summers ago, we spent a week in KC. Went to Cabela's, Moon marble company in Bonner Springs, Bass Pro Shops in Independence. We Spent 2 days just touring all the fountains in the city. Spent one whole afternoon at the Plaza, one of the few fountians that the kids can play in. The kids had a blast! We usually stay in one of the hotels in North Kansas City, Usually Drury, Holliday Inn, Marriot. If you are not into amusement parks but are looking for a good place to take the kids to cool off during the day, Try the Adventureland Oasis on Hub Drive in Independence. It has a nice pool, lazy river, kidde pool, 2 or 3 big slides, concessions, lockers, very well kept. Best part is family of 4 can get in for 20-30 bucks for the day. It is run by the city. Lots of other things to do or see that we never had time for. Will definately be going back. KC Masterpiece and Gate's are great palces to eat if you like bbq, Red Robin on the north side along I35 if you like gourmet sandwiches, their onion ring towers are the bomb! Many other places we've been on previous trips that don't come to mind at the present. Do plenty of searches on the internet, alot of places have printable discount coupons on their websites. Have fun!
