Illinois | We have a bulk tank set up not too far from the house and use a corn-vac that is hooked to a shop vac to pull corn into a small hopper that is hanging above the 14 bu. hopper for the furnace. When small hopper is full shut off vac and open valve to dump corn. The pvc pipe is on top of the ground right now, will eventually be buried. Could be a problem if it plugs up. The pvc is not glued together, so it can be disassembled in the summer for mowing.
Corn vac works good, just make sure to clean the filter in the vac on a regular basis otherwise you don't have any suction.
Personally I don't think the bulk tank looks any worse than LP silver bullet we used to have in the yard. Our bulk tank is partially hid by a fence. Maybe we should paint it to look like a rocket, that might turn some heads. | |
