I was thinking of doing something like that myself. My idea was to find a used hopper bottom bin from a hog farm nursery with an 1 1/2" spring auger that runs through pvc (Choretime). Set the bin by the house in the fall on a small pad and use it, then remove in the spring to eliminate total redneck look. Or maybe just set close enough for gravity feed.
