You can buy a 12v lighter plug laptop power source at Best buy and other stores. It has a variety of replaceable tips to match the voltage requirements and plug configuration of various laptop models. (but not all).

Personally I would NOT plug my regular AC power source into a truck inverter.

I blew out a Milwaukee 18 V battery charger running it off of my inverter. I don't think the AC wave shape is the same as the regular wall outlet. May or may not work but personally I feel better keeping it DC with this clean power adapter, sorry can't remember the brand. Make sure you get EXACTLY the right tip for your computer brand and model!
