| I am told that we will be able to get dsl in the very near future, as in about a week. Been on direcway/hughess for several years. Never been real happy, but never had a real alternative. I'm told the dsl has three speed options and I've been trying to figure out how that compares to my satellite speed.
The dsl lists the following:
1.5 mbps / 384 kbps
3.0 mbps / 512 kbps
5.0 mbps / 640 kbps
my satellite download tests from the low 200kbps to an extreme high of 700+ kbps, the upload is low of course, most of the time barely over 100.
The Embarq web site does not specify what the two numbers listed above are supposed to represent except and I don't know enough about computer technical language to figure it out. Is it upload / download or vice versa? Which one would be comparable to the download I get now if I average something in the 400 kbps range on the satellite, the middle one?
