logistically its a real issue since most people want to run a grain cart and not dodge bales. Plus the drying issue mentioned above. Anyone with drying systems in the yard will have damp stalks that won't keep.
Although that would be an intriguing idea for making feed.
Overall I don't see it catching on except on a small scale.
